Summary: Will it fit you?
Comment: Menstrual Cups are WONDERFUL! But they are not "one size fits all." Whether small or large, Diva Cups are the longest cups on the market at 57mm and therefore probably won't fit those with short vaginal canals or those whose cervix drops low during their periods.

There are 8 different brands of cups and they are all different sizes and shapes. Research Menstrual Cups to make an educated guess as to which one might fit you best before you buy one so you don't waste your time and money on a cup that is the wrong size. A VERY helpful site is www.menstrualcups.org And there are size comparison charts at http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/1285963.html

Summary: Best money I ever spent
Comment: I have always had an extremely heavy flow. I'd leak with tampons. With Instead cups, it tended to always spill everywhere. While I was on one of my eco kicks I bought a Diva cup. It honestly took me awhile to get the hang of it.

For the first few cycles I only really used it when I slept. I'd use tampons during the day, and then would put the diva cup in as protection when I slept. At first it was really uncomfortable if I wore it during the day. Then I quit using it. I got frustrated.

If you are having trouble, be patient. It took me awhile before I figured exactly how to get the thing in. Now it is often the only protection I need. I'm honestly shocked at how well it works! Now that I've learned how to relax and how to put it in without pinching myself I'm very happy.

The main reason why I made the switch was because a couple of women I knew have gotten TSS over the years. As far as I know and have read is that there are no cases of women getting TSS while using a menstrual cup. You can also go longer between emptying a menstrual cup versus changing tampons. So it really is an excellent product.

Summary: You will no longer remember that you it is your period.
Comment: I am very glad that I learned about this product so early in my life (I am 20). I no longer remember or notice that I have a period. No more stains, leaks, and any discomfort. I have been using this product for just a few months, but I quickly got used to it. It might be hard to insert it the very first time, but after that it takes several seconds to insert it and you forget that it is there. I empty the cup once a day and found that it is very convinient to do that in the shower. Not only I no longer have to waste all of the money on conventional products, but I also don't waste my time - it takes less than a minute a day to take care of my period with Diva cup.

I really try to spread this idea around through my family and close friends. Women deserve to know about such wonderful alternatives.

Summary: The answer. Period.
Comment: So, I've found the answer to my fun little monthly dilemma. The Diva Cup is great in every way - it's easy, comfortable and very environmentally conscious (which I love).

It's easy in that once I figured out how to insert it (I got it on the first try - the directions are very clear and helpful) I pretty much can go 12 hours without even a thought to being on my period (that's after I take the Midol....)

It's comfortable; I usually don't fell it all. Sometimes I feel like I've sprung a leak, but it's almost always a false alarm. The little tip doesn't bother me at all like it does other ladies.

And it's great for the environment! I don't understand why this isn't getting talked about more in this day and age. Tampons, and especially pads are so bad for the environment, and when the Diva Cup makes so much more sense I just don't understand why it wouldn't be more popular (except pad and tampon companies not wanting to lose money).

Seriously, the Diva Cup is one of my best buys. Ever. Five stars all the way. And of course I totally recommend it.

Summary: Earth-friendly, but sometimes hard to use
Comment: I love my Diva Cup. It's much more comfortable than tampons or pads. You don't have the icky feeling pads give you or the dryness and irritation of tampons. That said, it takes some practice to use the Diva Cup and not get leaks. I usually end up wearing a pantyliner with it because if it isn't in just right, and I'm exercising or moving around, you get a little bit of leakage. You have to remember NOT to put it in like a tampon, otherwise you will make a mess. The directions are good, but you have to follow them perfectly. Still, it is a great re-usable product, and once you get the hang of it, you'll like it better than all the other feminine products you've used in the past.
