Summary: Saved me quite a bit!
Comment: I thought for $30.00 I would give it a try. I followed the instructions and took my time. I didn't need to replace the screw gear so I did not have to drop the motor. Taking my time, installation took about 1.5 hours and I am not that handy. If I had to drop the motor, it would have taken another hour or so.
The replacement parts showed up next day...very impresive. I would do it again if my other garage door opener needs it.

Comment: This is a complete solution to worn out drive gear in garage door opener. Although it is not an easy project, it is certainly possible to complete the replacement of the worn drive gear in about 2 hours with common tools. All of the necessary parts are included and the directions are reasonably straight forward. What a great feeling when the door went up and down again! Big cost savings, too.

Comment: This was a great deal. The book was slightly highlighted but who cares! We don't get anything for resale since Prof's change books almost every semester!!! This was a fab deal and I will check them each semester!!! I have recommended to others!!

Summary: Takes some effort, but it works well.
Comment: The kit did what I bought it for. Now, a lot of the reviews mention some assembly required, they are quite right. I used a hole punch, Phillips screw driver, pliers, hammer, two by four, and my concrete basement floor. Using a combination of these (wood and floor for a ghetto anvil)I managed to get the pins removed and replaced. To sum it up, you'll need some mechanical aptitude and a little ingenuity but you can get it done in under three hours.
