Summary: Great Tourist Vidcam
Comment: This is a great little camera for putting in the pocket as a tourist. It takes clear and non-jumpy, full-frame HD videos at broadcast speed.
Photos are clear, although the lens is not the best. The 4x digital zoom is as good as any, but at full zoom the image is a little fuzzy. The shutter response time is slow, but if you want action shots use the video instead.
Each video scene is stored on an SD chip as a separate movie, in .mov format with H.264 and AAC compression.
The camera interfaces with computers via USB with fast and easy downloads using any number of downloading software, at least one of which is built-in to both Mac OSX and Windows.
This will not replace my other video cameras with optical zoom and good lenses, nor will it replace my other digital still cameras.
But it is levels above cell phone quality and storage. It does what it is supposed to do and does it well.

Comment: For the price, this camera is a winner. I read the reviews prior to purchasing and really didn't find the complaints as severe. My husband loves the ease of using it and the size is great for our travels. I would highly recommend this item. Thanks Amazon for offering the merchandise.

Summary: Great Product For A Small Budget
Comment: Some of the reviewers have stated that the camera takes blury pictures, and I noticed this to be the case indoors. I use my samsung 5 megapixel camera for indoor shots, but on a sunny day outdoors my aiptek does a very good job. I enjoy using the 8 megapixels setting because it picks up more detail than my five megapixel camera does. Also, for having paid only 180 dollars for this camera at Target I must say it is good for taking videos to upload to youtube. This is a good camera for someone on a budget, but if you are expecting something fancy I would invest more money.

Comment: I just returned this camera...horrible! The concept is perfect, the actual product is crap. The video is OK, BUT, I have a macbook & it did not sync up properly. The photos would sync but not the video. The lady at the store said it would, as did the actual packing literature, but I was unable to get video over. The still camera function on this is HORRIBLE. Worse than my 8-year-old kodak we let the kids play with. You can hold the camera PERFECTLY still but somehow 1/2 of the pictures would still be very blurry. Too bad this product was so disappointing. I had very high hopes & wanted to love it....

Comment: Takes 5 weeks for Aiptek to replace and customer pays for the long distance call and the Shipping to return the item. Can't get a refund for this defective product from Aiptek or Amazon so I can just replace this myself. Next time will spend more money for a more reputable brand and buy all electronics locally instead of online.
