Summary: function over form
Comment: Even though I know from experience that most of stomps are just a shallow 3D graphic that are practically useless once covered in snow, I almost didn't choose the "Clutch" due to it's looks. I'm glad I bought it: The Clutch's heavy duty, stiff plastic spikes/scraper rise an impressive half inch above the board. It may be a little heavy at 1.6 ounce, but I don't think that really matters in the grand scheme (all snowboard equipment is still relatively heavy and everyone is ripping on it) - if you're going to add weight to your board, might as well be with something that actually works. Maybe I'd give it 4.5 stars because of that, but since that's not an option, I'll round it up to 5. There might be something else as good out there, but I just don't think there's anything better than this one.

Dakine Clutch Stomp Pad - If you prefer function over flash this is the stomp pad for you The pads grippy surface does a great job keeping you on your feet, unlike those just for show stomp pads.
