Before making this purchase, I did my research on several different websites- this brand of knife was rated very highly. I use it for most of my everyday kitchen tasks, from slicing onions to trimming fat off of a brisket. It has proved to be very versatile and is always the first knife I reach for. I also own a Forschner chef's knife and a couple of paring knives, which I have also been quite happy with. Customer Rating: Summary: More than a cut above the rest Comment: This is the only bread knife I've used that can slice fresh bread-machine loaves cleanly, without smashing the loaf. I can make a hard-crusted artisan type bread and the knife slices easily through that also. This knife is so good that I'm going to have to try some more Forschner products.
