Customer Rating: Summary: Good Supplier, Pregnancy-like Side Effect Comment: As found in various reviews and studies, taking a Krill Oil supplement showed good results for improving nutrition and health. (Many will show up in a Google search for Krill Oil.)
However my wife took these pills and had bad side effects.
Pros:
- Good Supplier / Quick Shipping (DAB Nutrition)
- No fish taste or bad breath after taking
Cons
- Nausea
- Bad Acne
- Food cravings (Same foods as when pregnant)
- And many other common pregnancy side effects
She took them for about two weeks and couldn't take it anymore. The good news is that it has been about two weeks since she stopped taking them and everything is back to normal.
In case you were wondering: She is not pregnant, nor has anything else ever affected her in this way other than being pregnant. This was also the only supplement change during the two week period she took them.
Most everything else out there was very positive on Krill Oil, so I wanted to post this review to show there at least can be negative side effects.
Customer Rating: Summary: this worked for me Comment: My cholesterol was high enough that a statin was prescribed for me. I decided instead to try to lower it on my own.. I took krill oil, cut way back on saturated fat, added psyllium husk and Benecol chews. IN one month my cholesterol was in normal lmits. I"m not sure which factor had the most impact.. I suspect it was a combination. In my diet, I had already eliminated most processed foods, white flour, sugar, etc..
Customer Rating: Summary: Neptune Krill Oil Comment: Don't know it it is doing me any good. I am sure Krill Oil is good for you. I can say that the product was as described. It was a good price and delivered on time.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good so far. Comment: It's always difficult to judge the effectiveness of a suppliment, but I enjoy taking one these as opposed to 3 capsules of fish or flax oil. I'm sure the benefits will be noticed over the long term.
I also ordered these from DAB nutrition, and had a great experience. They accidentally sent me the wrong order, and when I called them they apologized and sent me two bottles right away (along with a postage paid envelope to send back the incorrect items).
Customer Rating: Summary: Hate how the pills smell, but they are effective Comment: Tim Ferriss, author of The Four Hour Workweek, recommended these on his blog for helping with brain function and inflammation of joints, and gave evidence that they're better than fish oil.
It's always hard to tell what's helping, but I do feel somewhat more clear-headed than usual after about three weeks of taking these pills daily, and my joints don't hurt as much as they usually do, even though the colder weather of the last few weeks should be making them hurt more.
The pills do stink of fishiness, but once I swallow them, there haven't been any yucky fishy burps, so that puts them ahead of most fish oil pills.
