Comment: It is just my personal taste, but I consider this not a nice way to train your dog. There are other methods out there that use different methods.

Comment: After reading Cesar's first book and becoming familiar with his training and teaching methods, I struggled with translating those techniques to suit what my dog needed and what I wanted. This book made it all come together and more.
I highly recommend this book and suggest reading Cesar's first book in addition.

Comment: Enjoyed the book and found it helpful, but not magical when actually implementing the suggestions. If I could get my Great Dane to read it all my problems would be solved! Liked the suggestions on using the dog training tips in dealing with others in our daily lives.

Summary: More Wisdom from the Dog Whisperer
Comment: If you are a regular viewer of National Geographic's The Dog Whisperer, Be the Pack Leader will not contain any "new" information for you. Having said this, this book is still a must read for the dog lover as Cesar Millan goes in depth (something he cannot do on the show) on how to be the pack leader in your home.
The concept of "pack leader" is a complex one; one that is antithecal to our modern way of thinking. Yet it is through this relationship with our dog that we are able to communicate and nurture our beloved companions.
You will not only learn much about your dog, you will learn much about yourself after reading this book.

Comment: I was interested in learning about Cesar's life. I think his advice is good for large agressive dogs but not so much for dog training for small dogs.
